Happy Monday !
Spring just started with little bit of rain😁 Here, in Mumbai we had rain on Friday with heavy breeze. Local trains were stuck as usual and roads were blocked with heavy traffic. How about you ? Did you experience rain in your area?
So weekend was quite cold. Not so cold and not so hot. But I love that atmosphere in my locality. Sunday was quite lazy as usual. Everyone was sleeping till 10.00 am and so I took this precious time in doing some cleaning. Yes! Utilizing time is the precious thing for me currently.
Anyway the post is kids approved Indian Breakfast ideas means what we actually eat in this week.
Sunday :
Cheese Sandwich
I did cleaning only for 30 minutes. Everyone got up late and so we had cheese sandwich. It is simple and ready in 10 minutes.
I apply pizza pasta sauce on bread, put one slice of cheese and cover the bread. Tadda, sandwich is ready! We had it with coffee.
For babies I toast whole wheat bread with home made ghee and serve them in bit sized. I tried to give them cheese but they don't like it.
Monday
Easy pessy Rava Uttapam
If you following me you know I do not prepare lengthy recipe. This one is easy pessy. I soaked 1 cup semolina in half cup curd for 30 minutes.
To that mix I added chopped onion, tomato and coriander with little basic spices like haldi, red chilli powder and salt. Mixed it very well and prepare uttapam on griddle. Serve with coconut chutney which I preapared on Sunday.
For Babies.
Used the same batter without spice. Only add salt and roast with ghee. They loved it.
Tuesday :
Palak Paratha
Grind 1 cup of blanched palak on Monday night. Knead a dough with puree of palak with basic masala. I added ajwain, red chilli powder, chat masala and salt. Roll it like paratha and roast it with generous amount of ghee. Serve with curd. My daughter love to eat with sauce. I give only little bit amount of sauce. I am happy that palak is in her tummy now 😁
To my surprised my baby too eat this with curd. Almost 1/4 part of part. Happy me!
Wednesday :
Omelettes
yep we love to have it. Beat two eggs for my daughter without onion. Added black pepper, haldi and little bit of red chilli powder and salt.
Baby friendly was without salt but I with pinch of pepper. Fry it in ghee. They love it too.
And for me it is always 3 eggs + onion + green chilli + coriander beat it till fluffy and roast it in amul butter 😉. I know it is not healthy but some times I do. Yummy fluffy omelet is ready. No need of bread or paratha. I gobbled it with red chilli hot and sour sauce. It taste yummy. Do try it once.
Thursday :
Pasta : It is my family favorite. I made it mostly on weekend so that Mr. Hubby also have it. On kids demand I have to keep one of favorite dish.
It is semolina pasta. I made it in both white and red sauce. It is simple. Just toss garlic onion in half butter and half oil. Add up mayoneese plus pizza pasta sauce with mixed herb and salt. Add up boiled pasta and lastly grate cheese. Yummy pasta is ready in 10 minute.
For baby :
I toss boiled pasta in butter and grate cheese with pinch of salt and pepper. They love it. But my elder twin love to eat from our plate. We always give little bit from our plate too.
Friday
Vermicili upma
This can be made in 15 minutes. I have roasted Vermicili. The recipe is same like a suji upma. Fry onion, green chillies, curry leaves, grated carrot, haldi and salt. Garnish it with peanut and sauce.
For babies :
I give the same. Only adding green chillies after serving baby.
They don't like it at all.😐 so I made ragi porridge for them.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it didnt and it is okay. We are on trial and error period. Where my twins trying each dish. So I am very excited to give them everything. But at the same time do not keep any expectations that they will like it.
These are our kid/baby friendly breakfast recipe which we eat in last week.
Hope you get the idea and consider that healthy eating is very much easy with little bit of preparation which reduce your headache.😊
I love to feed my family because we all are foodie. So planning a menu with them is my favorite work on weekend.

This is tooo good. I too find Sunday like just a single day to do all my works properly, especially cleaning and cooking for my family. The breakfast approved by kids will be so helpful for my aunt as her kids wanted to always try something new. Even these dishes too are new for my tastebuds.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that u like it
DeleteI enjoyed reading your post, reminded me of years gone by. Put a smile on face- thinking about how young parents find time to do all the things and yet have so much fun. Indeed memory flies. My favs are palak parantha. I find it a good balance between healthy and tasty. Try tomato pranthas. Just grind tomatoes and use it instead of water. These come out super soft. You may want to blanch before grinding, I never did to speed things up.
ReplyDeleteSure, will try it.
DeleteAll these are huge hits with my kids too. They loveee cheese sandwich, paratha, upma, uttapam and all kinds of pasta! I personally love vermicelli!
ReplyDelete💜💜

ReplyDeleteI am a new mom and so there is lot to learn for me to take care of the growing years of my child. Your blog came to me as a guide which will help me in planning the breakfasts in the coming time for the baby. What I can see is that you make sure that there is no compromise on the nutritional part even when you are preparing tasty preparations for the mornings. Kudos to you and will look forward for many more tips from you.
ReplyDeleteHey Neeta, you and I have almost similar breakfast ideas. Just that I've never made pasta in mornings and will probably switch it with poha or upma. Your recipes are healthy, quick and filling too.
ReplyDeleteVermicelli upma and rawa dosa are my favourite. I make them as often as possible, as snacks and breakfast too. The weather has been erratic in Delhi too--rain at night and sunshine in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you have put up the post, and these breakfast ideas. Easy makes jhat pat, will definitely try the paratha out for my daughter as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of the recipes. And also your tips on how to make them kid friendly. In fact, these works great for us grown ups too. I prefer semolina pasta as well, so much better than the maida one.
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be the ideal breakfast for children with pasta once in a week wow... So good.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this. With school's new term beginning what to make my kids eat for breakfast was my biggest worry as they are poor eaters and bring back their half-eaten tiffin's home every day. Will surely try the recipes and let you know which the kids liked best.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. My kids are poor eaters and bring back their half eaten tiffin's home. Will try these breakfast healthy and delicious recipes for sure.

Yes Anjali, thank you
DeleteYou sure enjoy cooking for your kids. It shows in the way you try out new variations. Reminds me of when my kids were small. They would always make sure we were eating the same thing. No kiddi food for them.
ReplyDeleteYes mam, you are right
DeleteMy son is about 11 but a fussy eater. I make the upma and the pasta. Will try the rava uttapam. Thanks for this list.
