How to make Sabudana Vada

Good food is equals to good mood.

I always want to start our family weekend in a helathy way. It is relaxing and we generally get up late. So most of the time breakfast is special. Because it is family time and everyone is present for the first meal.

Sabudana wada is nothing but the dumpling made up of the mixture of sago, potato and penaut with some spices. In India it is mostly consider as the Fast meal.

It is one of famous street food and traditional fasting dish of Maharashtra. Every person in Maharashtrian family like this dish. Basically it is fritters and taste yummy when served with coconut chutney or curd accompained hot ginger tea.๐Ÿ˜‹

I never keep any fast nor my hubby have it.๐Ÿ˜‰ But this is one of my favorite food. I can have it in breakfast or lunch or in dinner too.

Anything traditional and yummy takes a time to prepare. My key to have yummy homemade food is the meal preparation. I always planned my meal and now with my busy twin baby schedule it is must to have meal plans. Otherwise we ended up in spending money ๐Ÿ˜

So what are the Pre-preparation :

1. Soak sabudana at night. Wash it through with normal tap water. And fill it only up to it soak sabudana. It is trick. Make sure water should not come over to the sabudana. The level of water should be soaking the sabudana.

2. Boil potatoes and cool it and keep in fridge. Do not over boil them. Just 3 whistle are enough for my cooker.

3. Roast peanut and remove skin and grind it in mixi jar to make a powder.

4. Grate coconut, peel garlic , wash green chilli and keep ready in a fridge for chutney.

5. If you love to eat with curd then prepare that also. Add 1 tsp curd to 200 ml lukewarm milk and cover it. Keep that at warm place. Next morning you will have homemade thick curd too.

Now you are ready for the next day. Because most of the work has been done.๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปIn the morning prepare first chutney and then fry sabudana wada.

How to make sabudana vada ?

Ingredients

Sabudana 1 cup

Potatoes 2 large

Peanut powder 1/2 cup

Ginger 1/2 inch

Green Chillies as per taste

Salt as per taste

Coriander 1/4 cup.

Direction

1. Pressure cook potato for 3 whistle or boil in a pan and mash them.

2. Dry roast peanut and crushed them in a powder.

3. Now mix everything mashed potato, crushed peanut powder, green chilli, jeera, chopped coriander, and form a dough.

4. Grease oil in your hand and make small balls from that dough. Press slightly so that it can shape in tikki. Make 10 to 15 tikki at one time only. Keep it ready to fry.

5. Heat oil in a pan. Then drop small portion of the dough to check the oil. If that portion float on a oil it means your oil tempreature is right to fry the vada.

6. Take one vada and slowly add in a hot oil. Let them fry on medium heat. do not touch them. Once they take a firm shape and turns in golden colour then slowly turn them. Fry until it turns in golden yellow. Fry all vadas in the same way.

7. Your sabudana vada is ready.

8. Serve with coconut chutney or curd.

Healthy Version:

Deep fry means lot of calories. ๐Ÿ˜ There are other ways to make it healthier.

How ?

1. Use appe pan for frying vada instead of deep fry.

2. You can shallow fry them. As I showed in picture. I always shallow fry my vada.

3. You can use air frier to make this wada.

4. Instead of vada you can make thalipeeth of the same batter and roast it on pan with ghee.

The yummy breakfast recipe is ready in 20 minutes. Right?

Some To Do

1. It is not advisable to eat fry items but once in a month it is okay.

2. It is authentic Maharashtrian recipe.

4. While eating our traditional recipe do not count carb and calorie. Have it in Healthy manner.

Poem - Struggle

Every single person is going through a struggle.

STRUGGLE

Bachapan se leke abhi tak
Hardum mere saath,
Saya bhi chodta hain daman,
Par tuni nahi choda saath,
Kaisebhi ho halat
Hamesha tha hato mein haat
Jindagi ka har mod,
Na tha kabhibhi asan,
Itna kyun pasand karata hain tu,
Jawab to de mere yaar
Bas kar ab tang karna,
Ab to chain se jeene de yaar!

Year End Review of 2022

Happy new year 2023.

My yearly review is always restricted to my journal only. But this time I came across these prompts on pintrest and so jotted down. It is little bit differnt version of year end review and I loved it.

This is the best year in my life. Twin baby and my life and my family life has completely changed. Our priority, our health, our eating habit everything has changed. And we as a family enjoyed it very well.

What was like in the beginning?

2022 beginning was quite tough. With small twin baby, feeding, bathing, handling my elder one and the most important staying sane.

What worked well and what didn't?

In the early period of delivery, being c section I was obviously expected a help. Though I have a house help. But it didn't worked.

Trying and trying and goes with flows. It worked. With the help of my elder one I handled everything.

Able to concentrating on being creative on my Instagram page. Did everything which makes me happy. Reading, writing blog post, dancing with my elder one, drawing, creating reel and making some delicious foods too.

What was the most important conversation and connection?

The connection was with my family inside my home. With my babies, they understood more ๐Ÿ˜Šmy mature elder one, ๐Ÿค— and Mr. Hubby. The connection we developed was incredible.

Conversation with my blogger friends. Yep, I write 24 post in this year. Whhooo...! Patted on myself ๐Ÿ˜Š

What was the best entertainment?

Screen time was so far I hooked on Netflix but able to saw only 2 webseries of K -drama. Arya, mismatched. Gilmore Girl and some kids movie on our movie date at home.

Our Family entertainment shows was Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra ๐Ÿ˜ Where you forget your all stress and laugh from the bottom of your belly๐Ÿคฃ

Who mattered?

My kid, Mr.Hubby , my one and only friend Anu,  who was constantly with me and You. Greatful to have you as a reader and your comments gives me more boost to write more blog post.

What changed?

I become more emotionally confident. Improve myself more the way I expected.

Earlier I used to write only when I think it will be best post. And it will goes one post in two three month.

I joined Bloggers community and fellow blogger inspire me to write.

I wrote my first ever fiction story which was top blog post in the community.

But I will continue to write more about my experience. I think we all get inspired by each others experience.

Where did you find happiness and fulfillment?

Within my families. Able to feed, bath to my babies. Provide clean clothes, 3 meals ๐Ÿ˜‡ to my family.

Happiness is spending time with my kiddos.

Spend time with my big family at family function. We had marriage and we thoroughly enjoyed.๐Ÿ˜

What are your intentions for 2023?

Maintain boundaries within family, friends and outsiders.

Forget, forgive but don't allow them to enter your life again.

Choose the people who choose you.

Stay away from selfish friends and relatives.

Focus on myself, my inner growth and self development.

Read, read and read more offline and online too. And write more post on my blog mindfully.

Thank you for being here!

How was your 2022? Are you reviewing it?

My twins turns one

It was weekend. We were very very happy and in a relaxed mood. After all I was not in a stress of arranging the first birthday party of my twins. We both are decided to have a relaxed, short and sweet birthday.

Decided to have Yakani Pulav for lunch and my twin have their favorite carrot tomato upma for a lunch. ( including some tender chicken pieces as a side dish)

Able to feed, bath them on a time. Generally they slept around 12:30 to 2 pm. But today is Sunday and they were playing with Dad ๐Ÿ˜

Side by side we decorate home in a simple manner. Friday night I painted this small card and calligraphy done by Mr. Hubby.

Then cut out some stars and put the numbers. Print out the pictures of my twins of every month and tadaa our CLOCK is ready.

Both twins loved it. They were banging hands on this wall and constantly looking at the picture and gaggles. Their smiles melts my heart. Love love the way they both are recognize themselves in the picture. And my little one calling us and telling by showing her picture ....AAA eee, hhhaaa, bbaaaa, aakkaaa  the cute giggled word. ๐Ÿ˜˜

Then photoshoot in the afternoon in causal way. Yeaa, I tried because I know at party time we will be not able to take a family pic. But in this relaxed afternoon too we were unable to took picture๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜

Still managed to store memories.

I called our babysitter Nanny and our cook. Always greatful to both of them for being our family. Love us like a family.

Some picture dumps. This is special COCOMELON cake๐Ÿ˜

Cake cutting on their special seat.

And yes, this year Mr.Hubby celebrate my motherhood by cutting a cake. It was surprised for me and yes I love it!๐Ÿ˜

Birthday was on 11 Dec 2022 Haapppy Birthday my twins. We feel blessed that God choose us as your parents.

Love you both and have a healthy life. ,๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜

Breaking all rituals, we did what we like to and wanted to do.  We decided not to involve any one. Wanted to keep it simple. So there was nanny (was in early months of my babies) And she loved them like her grandchildren.

Indian people had a tradition to have a big birthday bash. I am always against this. I don't like to waste such big amount of money. Instead we can have it at home with minimum number of people.

Off course if you have a big family and big amount of money after paying a huge hospital bills, Namakaran vidhi then you can have a big birthday bash too.

I believe to have such big birthday when kids actually understand what is the birthday? They actually excited for the joy. Then you should spend a money, arrange kid friendly birthday party (and have fun with your kid and not with the elder one)๐Ÿ˜‰

Do check out :

Saee turns 8

A letter from a dad for Saee's 9th birthday.

Saee turns 9

This is purely my opinion. I guess many parents have same opinion ๐Ÿ˜Š But no one is dare to break the rituals.

Many of Indian parents take loan ๐Ÿ˜for these arrangement๐Ÿ˜

Just because of LOG KYA KAHENGE?

Apart from this I don't like to have crying and irritating baby. With loud music, guest, new clothes and with chaoes our baby gets irritated. This is my personal opinion and I believe to have boundaries.

What do you think ? Do you believe in breaking society norms for our children?

When my alarm didnt ring this morning #BlogchatterBlogHop

It is the time Neeta, you can do it. Gear up and fly as high as you can!

My heart and my mind both was telling me the same thing. I was  surprised how can both were in an one team. I was also assuring myself, Yes, ! Yes!  I am on it!

Took a deep breath and tighten the glasses, cap and parachute. Recalling all the steps the institute taught us. Closed the eyes and realizing the dream come true only in a matter of fraction and I will be soring up high the sky.

PS: dreamstime.com

One, two and three ......

I ran towards the end of the hill and jumped ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Then opened the parachute and in a seconds I was flying in the sky.

Whhhooooo !! It's incredible!  What a lovely view !

Eagles are so close to me that I can clearly saw them the way they fly.

I was wondering,  how can they hunt their prey so minutely from this height?Brilliance!  God's creation.

And tapping on myself with a laugh... Haaa haaa, man made creation "Paragliding"

It was so beautiful. The wavey cloud like the steam on a coffee, the hilly mountains were snuggled in the lushgreen blanket, and tiny beautiful homes at the ground, everything looks awesome.

THIS IS A "PEACE "

No chaos, no pollution, no horns, no loud music, no babies crankyness, no shouting....PEACE - like I am sitting at meditation.

My mind is searching from a long time. Where there was no obligation no responsibility.

Just Me and My PEACE.

And suddenly the wind blow so fast. Fear was empowering and I fell down from the bed.๐Ÿ˜ Rubbing my eyes and picked my baby on my lap.....

ho gayi Paragliding ☺☺

And I laughed, it was 8:00 a.m.

Tapping on my forehead and took a long breath and got ready to run, run and run๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ.

11 Memories of year 2022 #BlogChatterBlogHop

I read this quote on Google and realized the value of my power.

2022 is the best year for me as it gives abundance - Love, and lessons.

When I started my blog I wanted to document yearly review but due to some boundaries unable to do that. I came across this blog hop by #blog chatter and my hands automatically goes to keyboard.

2020 was the bitter year.  2021 was the blessing of 2020 and so I had my twin pregnancy in late 38's and 2022 is with my twins. Yeaa, had my twins in my arms safe, and healthy.☺

This year 2022 was more stressful for us. You will get to know how Twin mother can survive on her own while in her postpartum and motherhood journey.

But there were lots of happy moments I captured in my mobiles and after revisiting them we forgot our stress. Having twin is blessing. Sharing personal memories with hope that some of you can relate with us. And you can change the perspective towrds life. This year is all about my baby and baby and  baby.

Twin Pregnancy

When I was in college I always wanted to have a twin baby. I was curious how the lady can have two tiny species in a womb. How can they survive inside the womb? And how that lady deliver the babies ? And guess what ?

I experienced all this ☺

It is called "law of attraction " Universe always support you and you have to keep a faith.

So here are my 11 memories of 2022 :

1. January was the first month of 2022 where I survived independently with my twinnies. Unexpected things happened a lots and there was nobody to help me.  Being c section with two tiny babies I was emotionally deprived and physically drained. But the ladies from my family had no heart. This bitter memory - that you do everything good for your family but such heartless people do exist, Specially woman๐Ÿ˜‘ is always hurt. ( Does it  happen with you?)

I survived and realized my power๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป.

2. Achieved success in handling both of them for feeding. Yes I had a lots of struggle to breastfeed them, but with constant trial and error I was able to breastfeed these tiny little delicate babies. Only difficulty was to burp them at the same time. Again I called this was due to the affirmations.  I made positive affirmation during my twin pregnancy and one of them was to breastfeed my twins. I did almost tandem feeding.

I learned that Affirmations do work.

3. I am greatful to my cook. She is like a family and take care of me as my mother. Feed me on time with hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. Though we pay money to them but not everyone can take care of you as a family. And this time where we did not have real family, she was the savoir.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Good karma always pay you back.

4. In two and half month my babies turned on their tummy. Milestone of my babies like neck part, turning on one side, crawling,  gaggling and many more - achieved so fast and quick. Intentionally control myself for not sharing any of these precious moments on social media.

Learned we can not document everything.

5. My caring Partner Mr. Hubby : I know my husband loves me a lot but second time realize that how much he was emotionally connected with me. My late twin delivery in 39's was challenging. And where no elderly people with us he was constantly with me. Keep me happy and motivated every time.

Greatful to God for such wonderful Partner.

6. My matured elder one who were witnessed  of everything. But glad that she took only happy part of being a big sister. This one was the bitter memory where she was with us in every up and down phase of life. She learned a lots of about family peoples and relations.

I learned from her how to choose joy because life is always difficult.

7. Able to celebrate diwali with my twins. Able to drew rangoli, had deep cleaning of my house and got ready  with my 3 girls and hubby with our traditional way.

Able to stick with tradition, rituals and transfer it to the next generation.

8. First time I had a babysitter/nanny inspite of having granny.  Becasue she was not interested to have grandchildren specially girl child. And, it is okay, for us.

Blessed to have loving nanny who take care of me and my babies like a family person.

It is okay to trust outsiders. They can be your big support.

9. Back to my cooking. I am greatful that I was able to cook and gave lunch box to my hubby. He had been eating out for more than 1 and half year. It was not easy to get up early in the morning with sleepless nights but tried and Successful.

Everything is possible with little bit of push.

10. Happy to spend time with my elder one. She cried many times due to non availability of mummy with her.๐Ÿ˜‘ And after lots of struggle I was finally able to succeed. Not 100 percent but I figured out to have date with my elder daughter. After all she had been my best friend over this 8 years. ๐Ÿ™‚

Had errands, movie date, cook date with her. Looking forward with many fun things.

It is important to have one on one time with your each child.

11. Last but not the list - My Blog.

Able to get back on my blog. Success knock on the door with hardwork. My dream come true to become a successful mom blogger. This was the first step of my success and many more to come.

Dedication and hard work pay back to you.

With love of my hubby and daughters we struggled a lot and have a happy, yes we can say "HAPPY " 2022.

Because we learned :

๐Ÿ’œ To accept the people the way they are.

๐Ÿ’œ It is okay.

๐Ÿ’œ Time is temporary and it will fade away.

๐Ÿ’œ We nurture our babies without any guilt.

๐Ÿ’œ To enjoy each phase of life though it is tough or smooth.

We had babies after so many trial and error and in a natural way. And that is the main reason of our "HAPPINESS"

Finally I have my big Family.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Dec 11 is the birthday of my twins ❤ We have crossed the difficult journey -"TWINMOTHERHOOD" Yeaaaa! We made it. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿค˜Saee and Mr. Hubby๐Ÿ˜˜

The Door bell -#BlogChatterBlogHop

It was Saturday, I was sitting near my window reading a book and" lag ja gale "was playing on my Spotify.

                        The door bell

My favorite thing to sit quietly alone and staring at highway. A silent highway attracted me a lot because it was so much noisy in a whole day. At midnight it became silent but not sleepy. One or two small cars were till knocking him. Big trucks made loud  sound and tried to wake him up. I love that silence and old songs of kishore Kumar on my loop.

It was around 12:30 a.m. everyone was sleeping and I felt hungry. So I went to the kitchen to grab my favorite snack item Shankarpali. I was munching and humming a song. Suddenly I saw one lady walking on the road. She wore a white sari and had beautiful black and long hair. Within a blink she sat. That sight was little bit confusing because of the way she was sitting on the hedge of the road. The moving vehicles didn't bother her at all. And  I saw her hair started to roll down on the road. It look like she was sitting by posing her back towards the highway and her hair was lying all over the the highway!

It was scary. I scream loudly and my brother woke up from his phone. I showed him and he also shocked.

He : Chal dekhake aate hain. Who is she? Why she is sitting like this?

I : ๐Ÿ™„ with the same expression. Are you going mad? Check what time is it? It is almost midnight.

And in the meanwhile she was disappeared!

Yes, she disappeared.

It gave goosebumps!

"Ting tong ' the door bell rang.  We both were looking at each other and almost shattered.

To be continued......
