Grateful to the all good and bad moment for the entire 8 months of the year. The grief of my father, an emotional rollercoaster, getting up a new routine, changing life in many more ways and Love from the family I am getting.

Over the years I leared when you acknowledge the small things you can feel self love and radiatie the same love. I also learnt to  accept the things the way they are coming to me rather than indulging on my self expectations.

For 2 years I have been completely immersed in motherhood not having "My Life",  Like pregnancy and then postpartum I can't remember when was the last time I was ready with all make up and all (lipa poti )๐Ÿ˜†

This festival season I wanted to take care of myself first. Because  my daughter asked several questions like why you don't dress up like other moms? Why is your hair so messy?

Finally taking this on a serious note  I changed my wardrobe. I haven't wear a suit probably for the last 3 years. This time I have it in my wardrobe and now I am loving it.

Things I am loving lately September Edition:

Kurta Set from  the brand Klosia .

This one with Floral Prints and festive too.

And this black one too with dupatta. All these are on deal and below INR 1000 /

Because I realised I like to wear only cotton and comfortable clothes irrespective of the trend๐Ÿ˜† Comfort is my new fashion. I had 3 sets and now wanted to stock up almost 5 colours. Are you a suit person or Western one ?

  The Date Syrup

As a toddler mom I have to cook variety of baby food and I don't use sugar for them. In the same way I am trying to minimise my sugar consumption too.

Earlier I used to make date syrup at home. But now with increasing task it is better to purchase store bought. I have been using this from last 3 months and I love it. It is natural sweetener with no added sugar. I am adding it in halwa, porridge, oats and to my Coffee too.

Coffee

Though I am a tea lover but constant nagging of Mr. Hubby I have decided to lower my tea / sugar intake. Generally I had 4 cups of tea ☕ in whole day - With snacks always. You know breastfeeding moms are hungry in every 2 hours. I want to get rid of this habit. So I am slowly switching to Coffee. ( I know this is also not healthy ๐Ÿ˜œ)

One mug of coffee like the star bucks version at home and actually I am full . I didn't even drink 1 cup of tea at all.

I am loving it.

  Trolly suitcase Bag

I like it specially for light weight and 28 ltr capacity. It is laptop friendly too. We are currently not having any suitcase which fits our family clothes. Instead of keeping multiple bags I choose this one. I love it because we can piles up many clothes ๐Ÿ˜œ

   Hair dryer

Washing hair and drying it is a major task on my to do list. You know with a toddler taking out time for a bath is difficult. And then drying hair is another task. Earlier I don't like to use hair dryer instead I like to dry up hair naturally under fan or in sun.

But life lately is full of chaos. Switching to this hair dryer make me less irritate. It is also helpful to dry up my daughter curly hair which took lots of time generally.

The Journey through the time ( 7 to 12 years age )

This is our new edition to my daughter shelf. She already read the series of Stilton. Now she wanted to more and more .

Currently it is her favourite book . And mine too. ☺️

And I am reading the Harry Potter Series and No drama Discipline.

Gratitude List for the months of September:

Reading : Our reading is increasing . Our means my family, yes. I read aloud to my twins, my daughter is reading now her books apart from study and me trying to read at least 5 to 6 pages.

Writing a little bit on a daily basis for my blog. It keep me sane and happy.

Learning new skills from you tube tutorial regarding my blogging. I never took it seriously because I love to write from my heart and not from the SEO parameters. Still learning ๐Ÿ˜†

Dressing up,  Off course anyone love to dress up. But currently taking care to dress up properly. So that keep dress handy and ready in short organised way ,,,๐Ÿ˜œ

Our new home : It is a blessing. I feel it is safe and full of positive vibes. My daughters are more happy and mostly we have giggles throughout the day.

Food : And off course having food on our plate. This is basic but having home made food is also a blessing. Bless that I am able to cook and have a healthy meal thrice a day.

9 to 12 Months Baby Food Chart

Having a baby in 9 to 12 Months is exciting. The way he holds tiny things in his hand and puts them in his mouth melts mom's  heart. Then our food journey starts. We wanted to give variety of foods. After scrolling reels on baby food I am also tempted to make the same food and feed my babies. But you all know what works for others does not necessarily work with us. Especially our Indian baby takes a long time to eat the food compared to the screen baby ๐Ÿ˜‰ Right?

I have an older daughter who is 10 years old. I have gone through the solid phase, picky eating phase and all. I have gone through the mommy- guilt too. So this time I am not getting any stress.

Sometimes we flow with the social media unknowingly and sometimes withdraw, did this happen with you?

I took some ideas but not implemented yet ๐Ÿ˜‚ rather than sticking with mom instinct and our traditional food. Yes! I didn't start any liquid food rather than Ragi Malt. Apart from that I stick with the mushy structure of food like dal, apple, pear, rice, and all. Not given anything in puree form except soup that too mostly chicken soup, mutton soup, tomato soup and carrot soup.

PS : Pixabay

I am sharing a real food chart .... Ha ha you can say chart because I am into a habit of feeding them every 2, 3 hours instead of giving everything at the same time. Because they tend to throw more and eat less. Pheww you know mom, this phase is quite exciting and cleaning is more irritating.

These can be start 7 months onwards too

Breakfast :

Mostly, Ragi Malt with variations like

Okay.

What do you need to have daily food eating habit?

Now you will have to have plates, spoons and high chair, right.

I have plates. Silicon one so that my twin not able to throw it ๐Ÿ˜ญ. You can find it here very reasonable and pocket friendly.

And if your budget is more ๐Ÿ˜œ then you can have a high chair too.

I like this spoon set specially designed for babies. Don't forget to check this here. I am very happy with this set because my twins are more interested to eat fruits with this fork.

Disclaimer: I am not a nutritionist nor pediatrician. Sharing my experience as a mom so that if you are a new mom, you should not stress too much about feeding your baby.

All these food items consume by us too. So trying to make variation and without stress. Make only one meal which goes well with all

Points to remember:

๐Ÿ‘ถBaby sometimes eat very well. Somedays only eat lunch / dinner. And that is okay. They eat as per their body requirements. As a mom accept it and do not force them to do anything.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Try to minimise your breastfeeding as much as possible. Instead give them snacks, water, juice or their favourite snacks.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Try to keep a long gap say at least 3 to 4 hour between each meal. Then only they can have good intake of food.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Give them floor time, play time. The more they will play the more they will be hungry.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Play with them, run with them and keep them on the floor always. 12 to 15 months babies are in the walking phase so do allow them to explore. Let them be their own. And so they will get tired and will eat food.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Do not give water during the meal time because they will drink more water and hence will eat less. (My experience: my babies will play more with water and less eating)

๐Ÿ‘ถDo not offer biscuits. I can say do not eat biscuit or any junk food in front of them. They will be eating healthy food if you eat healthy food.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Do not get tempted through social media. You can have ideas, knowledge but do not compare your baby with screen baby.

Reminder to Mom's

Do not compare your baby with other babies If your baby is gaining moderate amounts of weight and not frequently sick that means your baby is healthy. No matter how thin or how chubby he/she.

Do not take a stress of anyone's comments. People are there to comment unnecessary things always. So do not take stress.

PS : Pixabay

Hope this will help you. If not then please consider sharing it with newly moms. This is realistic baby food chart and basic food items which are healthy and fulfilling too. It provides necessary nutrition as everything is homemade. Try to include most of vegetables as you can.

Easy 3 Festival Sweet And Spicy Menu For Busy Toddler moms

Happy Wednesday,

Sweet and spice is mandatory part of our Indian meal. Without sweet dish any festival meal is incomplete. To balance the sweetness you have to have spice in a thali. Festivals have already started and the remaining 4 months are filled with many festivals. Each festival has different kinds of food and I am grateful to be able to follow food rituals.

PS : Pinterest

We mom always wanted to feed our family homemade delicious food specially at the festival. But with a whining toddler it is very difficult. First to keep our mood happy and second to keep our motivation to cook delicious food. I know, it is difficult and we ended up bringing outside food. Because today we easily get festival food from the food centre. But nothing tastes better than homemade food. Agree?

Cooking for my family is something I love. I always love to feed simple, yet healthy and homemade meals. Currently, I am going through the toddler phase and the elder one is a foodie.  I don't want to compromise on her food intake. Though she has a limited favourite food, I always wanted to cook for her and love the way she gobbled it and then slept for hours ๐Ÿ˜‚

Being a twin toddler mom and sticking to calm ๐Ÿ˜„( trying ) my intention to make some simple festival recipes which can be cooked in 30 minutes (subject to conditions you have some small prep work ๐Ÿ˜œ). The festive month has already started so don't be sad and enjoy this easy peasy menu. Do not get tempted to make tons of item. Stick to the basic.

Sharing what I used to make for a festival for my family - twin toddlers, one 10 year old and 2 adults. This easy menu consists of sweet and spicy food items which are balanced meals.

Without a further ado, let's start.

1. Seviya kheer + dry aloo sabji + Puri + papad + achar + salad

This is my go to meal, easy to prepare and not time consuming. I have boiled potatoes in my fridge for every week as a part of meal prep .  I do not use any onions for this curry. Giving tadka with combination of  jeera, hing, whole red chilli, turmeric, red chilli powder, kitchen King masala and salt with diced boiled potato. Fry till it gets crispy and garnish with sesame seeds and kasoori methi. Dry Aloo is ready.

Shevaii kheer is one of our family favourites. Roast shevaii in ghee. Boil milk on another pan. Add roasted shevaii and boil till it becomes thick. Then add sugar, dry fruits and cardomom powder. Yummy kheer is ready in 15 minutes.

Fry some puri. If the dough is already ready then it will take only 15 minutes to make poori.

Your thali is ready. Serve with some salad. Here I use cucumber and carrot slices with some fried papad and mango pickles.  My toddlers eat salad, kheer and poori.

2. The second Thali:

Semolina kheer + chana masala + poori + yellow rice + achar + lachcha onion with lemon + papad.

The Kheer recipe is the same as the sevai recipe. Roast semolina till it gets brown colour. Add custard powder to this kheer. It takes this simple kheer on a high level. Try it once, you will love it.

I made different versions of chana masala depending on time and mood.

Sometimes malvani chana masala where I use grinded coconut and onion masala. Will share this recipe very soon.

Sometimes dry chana masala without onion and tomato. Frying boiled chana with a variety of powder masale. Garnish with chopped coriander.

Some time I made choley masla with onion tomato gravy. The basic Punjabi chole masala keeps it as simple as possible.

Yellow rice is again simple. Giving tadka in ghee with hing, jeera, curry leaves and turmeric, followed by wash rice with salt. I made it in the cooker with one whistle.

Your second Thali is ready. Serve it with lachcha onion and lemon. Taste awesome ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The third menu is the typical Maharashtrian Menu :

Dal + Rice + Potato green curry + poori + shrikhand + kurdai ( papad type)

You can cook dal rice in a pressure cooker. Sometimes I did not give any tadka. Whisk dal and add salt. Serve it on a rice with dalloop of ghee. Yumm,๐Ÿคฉ

Maharashtrian potato curry is famous and simple which is used in Vada paav. No onion no tomato only using crushed garlic and green chilli. Garnish with crushed peenut and fistful coriander.

Shrikhand is store bought and poori. Yumm.

Maharashtrian easy thali prepare in 30 minutes only. You can make dal and rice in pressure cooker and at the same time boil potatoes too. It saves your time and gas. The main tempting items of this thali is Shrikhand and kuradai. I love to eat only shreekhand poori.

These are easy peasy recipe. Almost every Indian mom know it. My tip is always choose menu simple and your family favourite. So you will not feel any guilt that you unable to cook. Try this simple sweet and spicy menu. Share your also.

I like sweet one most of the time. My favourite is kheer poori and Shrikhand poori.

What is your favourite dish ? Do you like Sweet or Spicy?
