I am
back with lots of Holi Activity. Holi is one of the biggest festivals
celebrated everywhere and by everyone. I love our all festivals because it
brings lot of joy and happiness. People gather to celebrate festivals of each
religion and each cast which denotes the unity in diversity.
I am
here to share with you some activities which you can do with your child to
improve his studies. All this activities
are especially for the age group of 3 to 5 years.
Activities have following benefit:
1. It gives joy to your child that his parents
spending time with them.
2. You can teach them about our culture and festivals.
3. You can use any activity to increase his or her
study interest.
4. It helps to increase the concentration.
5. Activities help to improve bilateral
coordination.
I am
sharing some activity which we did for this month. I denoted these as a Holi
Activity. I love to prepare variety of activity as per the festival or season.

#we
prepare a banner of ‘HAPPY HOLI’ by using the scrap paper. I drew triangle
shape and asked her to cut and write each alphabet on each triangle. Cutting a paper along with line require eye and
hand coordination.
Increase memory power while writing alphabet on each
triangle so as to make the word “HAAPY HOLI”. Your kid will also learn new word
“happy holi”
#Drew
some rectangle and triangle shaped on this craft paper, ask her to cut it and
make a ‘PICHAKARI’. She made it by herself by attaching each shape. Drew some
extra bubbles. These improve the kid’s imagination power.
#I
drew dotted line of this ‘HOLI BONFIRE’ then she joined all the dots and colour
it. Colouring is one of the favorite activities
of each child. These require concentration for joining dots and colouring
without spreading the colour.
Those
child have concentration problem do use this kind of activity.
Tips
:
*Never
guide your child – do this, use this colour, draw like this etc. Just wait and
watch his creativity and appreciate him or her by saying “Wow…..so good”.
*Do
not criticize him or her instead always encourage them.
*Always
allow them to use the imagination power.
You
can share the story of Bonfire if your child is more than 6 years old.
Ahhh…😊 I did not share any story of “HOLI”as she is not yet ready to
understand. Only explain the festival of holi celebrated by bonfire.
She asked
why people played with holi? I simply replied, it is for fun. Festivals are
used to celebrate for joy and happiness. That's it! I think we must have to
share this thought with small kids.
#Exams
time is there and so we did some word power activity using this Holi Theme. Let
me show you some study related activities:
Word
Families: My child gets confused with these words. I use this activity to
improve her word power.
This
is Holi (bonfire) with “U” word family. The game is to keep your “U” word
picture card upside down and ask the child to identify the word on bonfire with
the picture and write the initial letter.
#another
one is with small pichakari “O” word family word. The game is same as above.
Only difference is I drew some bubbles which are coming out from the pichakari.
Do
try this at home. It will improve your child vocabulary, spelling power and
memory power.
#opposite
matchup: Children get bored with same match up so to make it more interesting I
wrote this opposite word in bubble form and keep it plain. If child want to
colour it, they can colour it and complete the match up. Finding the word from
such word collage and join those with line actually have lots of fun. We both
enjoyed a lot.
#Last
one is the rhyming word. As simple as she can understand.
All
these study activities sheets are available in PDF form with free of cost. You can
use this sheet for different kind of activity.
