Anandwan ------ A journey from stones to Milestones to Smilestones

From last three years Nitin and I was waiting for this opportunity to visit the Anandwan ….., and yes its in 2017 finally we got the booking.  Glad to know that there are millions of people like us who wanted to visit the place are in queue. It seems good that majority of people showing interest to social work. However, many of the people still does not know what is Anandwan? Who are Prakash Amate and Vikas Amte?

I do not believe in God….but whenever I saw this couple…no no...the whole Amte family, I feel yes, there is God who is present on the earth through this human beings. Dr. Prakash Amate and Dr.. Mandakini Prakash Amate……interantional renowned personality with simple nature. Highly qualified but do not have an ego, prestige and jealousy. They worked for the Adivasi (the people who live in forest) community.

Dr. Vikas Amte….the great human being, who work for leprosy people..…do not able to express his work in words. It took a lot of courage to sacrifice a comfort and cozy life, to serve the Leprosy (Maharogi) people, blind, deaf, handicapped people.

They spend their entire life to give this people a normal life as we live with basic needs, education and right to be a human being. They spend almost a six decades and their third generation is now managed the same responsibility.

We would not able to sum up the whole Anandwan through this small blog post, but would like to cover the most of the part it. II)           Lok Biradari Prakalp, Hemalkasa: This was started in 1973 by Baba Amte for the integrated development of the primitive tribe ‘Madia-Gonds’. The members of this tribe, residing in the deep forest of Gadchiroli district, were living the life of animals, deprived of necessities of life, totally neglected by the rest of the world. Dr. Prakash Amte and his wife Dr, Mandakini volunteered to work among the Madias.

III)              Mulgavan : In October 2006 Baba Amte’s son Dr. Vikas Amte taking along his land army stepped onto the disaster-struck soil of Mulgavan which was reeling under severe penury, illiteracy and a recent deluge of farmer’s suicides. The Artist has performed in over 3000 shows all over Maharashtra and Delhi.

V)        Amte Animal Ark: This one is orphanage cum rescue centre at Himalkasa for young animals, whose parents have been killed by the tribe people only for food and not for fun. The love of Dr. Prakash Amte cannot be explained in word. I will recommend you to read this Book Negal.  Today this Ark has almost 90 animals.

Apart from that, MSS also have following infrastructure.

Let’s move to the Management of MSS:
Baba Amte and his wife Sadhantai, decided to take up the cause of serving leprosy patient. MSS has flourished under the able leadership of Baba and Sadhantai. After Baba, his sons Dr. Vikas and Prakash Amte have taken up the role as flag bearers of MSS. Sunrise....at Kanyakumari

Happy Thursday,

My baby girl turning a big girl so fast that I always said her to stop growing but she is not listening.  It was really a busy month for my family, and me so I was not able to blog for the month. I had tons of memory in my treasury bag and would like to share with you one by one. Memory Flies itself said it’s all about memory which I want to hold up and frame it. Without wasting too much time lets begin with todays post, “Sunrise at Kanyakumari”.

Kanyakumari is one of the most beautiful places that everyone should visit and feel it. Yes, you have to feel it, the breathtaking sight, sunrise and sunset at kanyakumari beach, Vivekananda Memorial Rock and Kanyakumari Temple. Every point has its own story.

Isn’t it looking like a painting? This is the Vivekananda Memorial Rock.

The giant one is Thiruvallur Statue. This is also known as “Thriveni Sangam”- the meeting point of three oceans.

I tried to capture pic and hope you will able to see the different colors of water of three oceans.

The most beautiful and unique feature of this place is Sunrise and Sunset which attract the tourist to Kanyakumari. A lot of tourist assembles at seashore to welcome the sun. In my whole life I had never ever wait for sun to rise but at Kanyakumari I did that. It was one of the most awaiting and breathtaking sight.

It was around 5.00 a.m. our hotel manger rang the bell and told us to go at seashore as soon as possible to catch up the place due to the crowd. Other friends went to seashore but due to small kids, we prefer to be at hotel terrace.  Our hotel is right in front of the sea from which we have a very beautiful sight. We rushed up at terrace around 5.30 a.m. and waiting to welcome the sun.The Vivekananda Memorial Rock and the Giant statue of Thirrulvleor look like this in the morning.

Let’s have a look at the picture

It’s about 5.30 a.m., sun is about to come to see us.
I was so touched by the sight and without blinking my eyes eagerly waiting for sun..!

It was so calm and beautiful atmosphere. I think Sun was wake up and ready to rise to say good morning to all.

6. a.m. See the yellow and golden colour of the sky, it’s like Sun had painted the sky with his color.

6.20 a.m. And here is HE !!! How beautiful ……!!!

Shankhanad is about to begin. Its accurate 6.20 a.m. as soon as the sun came Shankhanad was start until the whole sun came out of his house…, it look like sun is coming from the ocean. And bells are ringing continuously. It was really a holy atmosphere where I saw the real worship of SUN.

I was trying to hold the sun in my hand…haaaaa!!!

Moreover, it is about 6.20 a.m. the whole kanyakumari awake and soon it look like a noon. I was feeling the hot sunrays. It was thrilling experience in my life. I never saw such Sun’s beauty.

Do you like to watch sunrise or sunset? I always love to see.

Designer saree blouses

Happy February,

This will be my first fashion post of 2017 especially for girls. We Indian girls love saree a lottt. Whether you are homemaker, executives, grandmother or college going girl…..everyone love to wear a saree. Wedding season is begins, so I thought to make a post on saree blouses that must have in everyone’s wardrobe.

Whenever we buy a new saree it comes with the blouse which most probably we do not like. Either it is simple or not has any finishing as per the saree design or it is not matching with the saree as per our choice. I do not like the blouses, which come with the sarees. We need to design it again as per the saree design.  When you go for stitching the blouse especially for the wedding season the tailor will give you the blouse design catalog, which have numerous design that make you more confused.
Here is the solution for this.

I would like to recommend you to have the following three blouses in your wardrobe that is mostly go with the traditional as well as designer sarees and it looks stunning.

This is one golden shimmer kind of blouse that has pearl work. It has back buttons and has circle shaped neck design in front. This blouse will go with any kind of saree like blue, green, red, peacock like this

With green saree

With blue one too. Looking adorable?

Second kind of blouse I will suggest to have this Green one, which goes with Red Saree, light glittering border sarees too.

It has simple circle back neck and has front buttons. I loved this diamond work on hand and to the back neck.

Third, one is Black blouse, which is simple but looks stunning with this black colour net having a beautiful peacock patch.

This blouse will go with the golden, Red and black sarees specially having a golden broad border which are now in current trade.

Apart from that there are two more my favorites blouses are as follows : Blue one with golden work

And Pink one..☺

I hope you all like today's post. One more thing I want to add up, if anyone like the blouse and want to design like this we are, ready to deliver it to you. Yes it is very pocket friendly and you don’t need to spend huge bugs on this. We are designing sarees too.

Stay tuned for more saree designs like above one.

Special thanks to Smita and Anu who are fashion designer by profession and allowed me to share their work on my blog post.

Organization of kid's closet

Happy Sunday

How was your first month of 2017? I was quite busy throughout the month so not able to make any post on my blog. This will be the first organization post of 2017. No, I am not organized person; actually, I am a lazy girl/women/mother? The day Saee (my daughter) born I want to be organized for a various reason. You all mommies know how the newborn baby room looks like. There is diapers, baby burp cloths, swaddling blanket, baby quilt and baby lotion, baby oil bla, bla, bla, bla….!! At that time, I felt that it needs to be organized. Everything should have proper place. I was trying since she was a baby. Now she is 3 years old so I want to share with all you mummies how I organize my little one closet where I am placing all her clothes, books and toys all in one place.

Whenever Saee want to wear clothe, she asked me to take out all her clothes from the closet and then she will choose from it. It was a huge pile and I tend to keep it like that only again in the closet. It happened with her toys also. She wants every toy to play and finally the living room is filled with toys. Whenever any guest is coming there is a huge marathon to pick up the entire toy and put in one huge basket. Next day when she asked me, for a particular toys then I have to find it from that box which was most time consuming and irritating. Isn’t it happens with you mommies?

So I decided to make it organized. This is the real kid’s closet and I organized in my way so that each thing have proper place including toys also. This is worked for me from last 3 months. So I thought to share it here.

I used whatever we have in the house like shoe box, clothes box. Whenever we purchase the new clothe, we get this kind of boxes do not throw that and reuse. I am using this box from last three month, which is in still good condition. You can cover it by using different contact paper. However, I like this only. I used these boxes because it consume less space and able to incorporate more clothes.

This is the way I fold her clothes so that I came to know how many clothe she have. I just need to take out one box and then she chooses one clothe of her choice. I can track which clothes she used, if she is not using any clothe more than three months I transfer it to the donation box.

I label each box. I have total six boxes, particularly for her pants and leggings, T-shirts, daily ware, small pants, undergarments etc.

This is one of the baskets, which I used to keep her all frocks, which took a lot of space. This will go directly in the closet.

I put her accessories like hair band and her spects (goggles) in this box, which take a small space and all hairband, remain in good condition.

Now toys, I made a box for each toy so that it will be easier to keep all variety of toys segregated.

This is Barbie set, which include all barbies and accessories of barabies.

All vehicles are in one box.

Kitchen set and fruits go in this box. I used this plastic box, which is transparent, that help her to recognize the toys. I used the plastic box to keep puzzles toys. I am able to track and remove the toys, which are not in good condition. I throw out those toys and whichever toys she did not like it go to the donation box.

Yup I keep one box as a donation box which is used to filled up and cleared up within 5 months. This will help to keep your closet clutter free and create more space. Whenever you buy new things, old things should be getting out of that place. This in and out rule follows for all clutter like kitchen bedroom or my closet too.

Saee’s small closets have only four shelves out of two are occupied with her toys and two for her clothes. I used the small basket to keep her small board books that she loved to read every day.

This is how it looks, organized and easy to maintain. It will take only 5 minutes to reorganize because whatever we took out, Nitin or I will put the same thing in that proper place due to labeling.  Saee got the freedom to choose her toys and clothes whichever she wants. Mummy is no more irritate, as there is no huge cloth piling or toys anymore.

How you organize your child’s closet specially in small space?
